Mama heron's two nestlings are doing well. Several other heron chicks have reached the fledgling stage, and will be taking their first flights in the next week or so.

Lunch on the Fly

This osprey, or fish eagle, brought his catch to the Sailboat Bend Wildlife Preserve.

He keened for a few minutes, looking around all the while. Eventually he flew off to the other side of the river, in search of a lunch date.

Theodore, Too

Theodore enjoyed basking in the Florida sun with all the other boats along Sailboat Bend.

Watching the Boat Parade

While watching the 40th Annual Fort Lauderdale Boat Parade, I looked down and found an unlikely observer;
